My name is Mike Young and I am a dedicated man to both my family and my work. I have always been interested in how things work so I could make them better. I served 7 years in the army as a combat medic and critical care flight paramedic. After returning home in 2016 I continued my work in medicine as a MICU paramedic in the southeastern michigan area. Over the years I have developed a passion for woodworking and turning crazy ideas into real tangible things.

Coming from a military family and operating as a first responder, I have developed a hightened awareness for the safety of myself and my family. Sharing that same concern with most of my friends and family I decided to create custom furniture to conceal weapons for home defense but also make sure they were easily accessible. This idea led to the birth of Hideout Custom Woodworking LLC.

After my first month of operating as a business I have been so humbled by all of the love and support that I have received from friends, family and my clients! I cannot express enough how grateful I am to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

This business has become more than I ever thought it would be and I have been able to expand my operation from custom furniture to any and all woodworking projects and ideas that a client might have.
